Allium Mount Everest

White flowered pom-poms

A hybrid of A. stipitatum and A. aflatunense raised by Mr A Langedijk. It has strong, straight glossy green stems, usually 36" (90cm) tall or more with one flattened edge. The leaves persist till nearly flowering time in late May or June. The head is a ball of white flowers 4-5" (10-12.5cm) across, which is particularly good used with other strong colours such as Gladiolus byzantinus, or against a dark hedge.

Planting instructions

Try and envisage the effect in late May with the white flower at 36" (90cm) and plant to combine with other strong colours nearby. 4-5" (10-12.5 cm) deep in a sunny soil and about 12" (30cm) apart.
