A sport arising from Queen of the Night with the same velvety purple black flower colour, sometimes green streaked and full petalled so as to appear like a small paeony flower with a silky black sheen. It is relatively tall so would be better planted out of strong winds, but use it to punctuate a display of darker parrot flowered tulips, or team it up with a white such as Mount Tacoma for a complete contrast? Planting instructions

Avoid really windy sites with heavy headed tulips. Plant 5" (12cm) deep and 5" (12cm) apart in reasonably good soil in spring sunshine. Compliment them with different coloured tulips perhaps?
