A striking dark flowered selection with deep burgundy-purple leaves.

Eucomis comosa Sparkling Burgundy

This is a selection from the Eucomis comosa group. These are distinctive for their dark burgundy-purple leaves. These are most noticeable when planted in the sun (and will be lost in a greenhouse) and early in the season, turning more olive green by mid summer. The whole effect is very dramatic. Flowers in August/September 24" tall.

Planting instructions

Plant 4-5" deep in a sunny spot in well prepared soil or in pots. Keep well watered in summer. Must have direct sunlight.
