This richly coloured, scented iris has gentian-blue petals with a small yellow and white crest on the falls and flowers in February and March.  The narrow, grey-green, squared leaves, elongate after flowering. It is very hardy but should be fed annually to ensure continued flowering.

Planting instructions

Plant the bulbs 4” (10cm) apart and 5” (12.5cm) deep in well-drained, moderately fertile soil in sun or partial shade. Top-dress the soil with grit so the flowers are not splashed with soil in rain.
