Narcissus Topolino

Lemon yellow trumpet, creamy pale perianth, sturdy habit and grey-green foliage

Recognizable by its sturdy habit and grey-green foliage, this is a variety that predates the records of 1923 with a lemon yellow trumpet and creamy pale perianth. A sturdy tough dwarf form with bags of potential. Suited to sinks, pots or the front of borders, or for naturalising. Flowers in March/April and is 8" (20cm) tall

Planting instructions

Plant bulbs 2-3" (5-8cm) apart in any reasonable soil or in grass, 4" deep (10cm) where they will remain cool, moist and safe from activity above them in the summer. Alternatively pot into John Innes No 2 for early colour and plant out in the garden later. Do not be tempted to cut back or tidy the foliage after flowering - this period of replenishment of the bulb's starchy food reserves is critical to future flowering. A liquid feed while starchy leaves are still green will benefit clumps in poorer soil. I would suggest you plant them in distinct groups and not randomly - the effect is generally better. They should clump up if planted about 2-3" (5-8cm) apart, further apart for more 'relaxed' planting.
