Suffering an unfortunate arrival leading to a confusing name (they originally arrived in Bristol on a ship called the Peru from the Mediterranean not South America).  Easily grown low broad fleshy near ever-green leaved plants which produce a huge flower head of steely -blue flowers especially dramatic in bud which add greatly to the richness of the spring tapestry. Planting instructions

Easy in good soil and needs very full sun and good light. Plant 4" (10cm)deep and 9"(22cm) apart or else pot them up in good compost.
