Tropaeolum speciosum

Not a true bulb at all, but we will provide a long piece of root which, given the right conditions, will sprout and grow, creeping and scrambling from the cool moist leafy soil where it is planted into the surrounding taller plants to flower in September / October on the sunnier side. Sometimes slow to start off, and better in wetter summers, but the envy of the English on holiday in Scotland.
