Showwinner is a hybrid of T.kaufmanniana and T. gregii and has both the pointy petals of the former and the mottled foliage of the latter. The flower is scarlet red with grey-green leaves marked with a darker mauvy-green. In full sun they will open out flat.  They prefer shelter from wind, although after some days their leaves will recover from a blow.  They will come back for several years in a well-drained site with rich soil and like either full sun or part shade. Flowering in March/April.  They grow to 9" (22cm) and are ideal for window boxes or raised beds.

Planting instruction

Plant 6" (15cm) deep and 6" (15cm) apart in well-drained, fertile soil in a sunny position.
